Just above the hamlet of Durgan, Wood Cottage is like something out of a fairy story. Standing on the edge of a small wood, with views through the trees of the shimmering water below, the cottage is a tiny, timber-built, thatched cabin that used to be an apple store. This is a completely secluded, romantic and magical place to stay.

There is easy access to the south west coast path which can take you to Mawnan in the east, here starts a circular walk of about 4 miles which provides spectacular views of Rosemullion Head, secluded coves and the beautiful Helford Estuary.

Heating: Rointe digital electric heating system.

Parking: Designated car parking space for two cars immediately inside the field gate that leads to the cottage.

Telephone: Limited reception for mobile telephones but kiosk in nearby Durgan village

Accessibility: Cottage is 30 meters distant from car parking, along a wooded track and therefore unsuitable for those with impaired mobility.

Offers: Guests will benefit from a late Sunday checkout of 4pm at this cottage.

Please Note: The cottage is in a heavily wooded area which can make the atmosphere naturally damp at times. There is a dehumidifier in the cottage. Please turn this on and air the cottage when appropriate.

The annual Durgan Regatta takes place in the village on the Sunday of the August Bank Holiday. This involves flags on both quays, loudspeakers and lots of people partying outside Quay, Beach and Old School House cottages.
