What are you currently working as?

Full time artist working towards a few shows later this year, including local small galleries, Gallery Tresco and Picton castle in Pembrokeshire also working part time in a London gallery as their ‘tech guy'

What's a typical day for you?

I usually wake up between 11am and 12pm, then start drawing and painting in the studio straight away. This continues through to about 1-2am, because I find that I can work more efficiently at night. There are usually about 1-2 days a week spent doing admin too, which is anything from applying for grants and residencies through to logging income and expenses for the tax man.

What’s next for you?

I’m shortly going to be visiting the co-owners of Pendennis super yachts in Falmouth docks to discuss ideas about a project involving the making of a series of paintings about the process of building a super yacht.

How did Falmouth influence your career?

The course taught me how to draw, which I believe is the key foundation to making any kind of art. They also opened my mind to realise how massive the subject of drawing can be.

If you had to give one piece of advice to a new Falmouth student, what would it be?

For a drawer or painter I would advise to be a 100% nerd and spend all of your time getting absorbed in your work to the point that you don’t know anything else.

What work will you be exhibiting at Driftwood Galleries?

In April I will be delivering 5 new large studies of various ruins, both nautical and architectural from around the coasts of West Wales and Cornwall. These are made from rough sketches made on research visits shortly after I graduated last summer.
